  • The Danish Ministry of Taxation has introduced new rules for the registration of vehicle users. Until now, it has often been the case that we as a leasing company are registered as the owner of a vehicle, while the business (lessee), which provides the vehicle to its employees, has been registered as a user. However, the real user in everyday life (officially called user 2 or secondary user) has not necessarily been registered anywhere.

  • The actual daily user of the vehicle (officially called user 2 or secondary user). Now it must be recorded who the actual user of the vehicle is. 

  • This is stated in a notice which entered into force on 1 July 2024. Amendments have just been made to this notice regulating such registrations and it is proposed that those cars where the user / employee is taxed on the value of the free car should be registered as a secondary user. We assume that these rules will be introduced.
